She is retired from a career in Project Management and lives with her husband in Burlington, WI. She is new to writing and illustrating, and now that she is retired, she decided to write the book she wishes she could have shared with her daughter when she was young. She and her daughter used to love to explore the illustrations in picture books and create their own stories from the objects or characters in the pictures. Those “Up to You Stories” they created are now lost to time. That encouraged her to write this book for parents, friends, grandparents, or anyone who wants to create, share, and collect keepsake memories with the special child or children in their lives.

Sherry Roberts holds a Doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Louisville. She has taught middle school through college in her 37 years of teaching. She has conducted technology camps, workshops for K-12 students, and teacher educational technology training.
She began creating stories with her nephew and nieces. This grew to writing children's stories for others to read. Her love of dogs, particularly basset hounds and rescue dogs, led to her debut picture book, Twas the Night Before Christmas…A First for Gus (Young Dragon Press 2021) about a shelter pup named Gus. This debut book has won multiple awards, including the 2022 Readers’ Favorite International Book Award – Silver, Children’s.
In 2023 she published three picture books. Hello, Can I Bug You?, What's Wrong with Barnaby?, and The Best Reading Buddy. All three books have won awards this year.
This award-winning author has completed her debut middle-grade book (February 2024), The Galaxy According to CeCe. This is part of a three-book middle-grade series. This series began as a nod to her life of moving around and the one truly unusual home her family once lived in. This is also a STEM-related book with the inclusion of astronomy as a background of CeCe's family. Book two, The Galaxy According to Cece: The Mysterious Dr. Pruitt, arrives on bookshelves in November 2024. Book three will be out in 2025.

Thomasina Tissue grew up in Setauket, Long Island. Captured in her heart at a young age, her stories are woven from a tapestry of a time spent long ago in the salty ocean air, walking along beaches, laughing with friends, and mixing her own wild imagination with regular and not-so-regular things that happened to her. And there her stories bided their time, for over forty years. After leaving Long Island, she grew up, married, and became a teacher of reading and writing, all the while continuing to feel the longing to write her own stories.
When she retired from teaching, her husband asked her if she would like a special gift. She fluttered her eyelashes at him and said, “I’d love a laptop.” Thinking this was a slightly strange request, he asked, “Whatever for?” She responded, “I have stories in me that need to come out!” Three months later, she completed the first draft of Water’s Edge, her first middle-grade fiction work. Water’s Edge was inspired by the original Setalcott people of the Setauket area. Her second middle-grade fiction work, Boy Patriot, received a Kid’s Choice Kid’s Literature Writing Contest Honorable Mention for 2023. Look for Boy Patriot coming in 2025.
Thomasina is a proud member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Long Island Authors Group. Besides writing, Thomasina’s favorite things to do are yoga, travel the world when she can afford it, pretend she is fluent in Spanish and love on her sweet daughter Emma, and husband, Dan, and not all in that order.
As always, Thomasina loves to hear from her reader’s! You can connect and catch up with all things Thomasina at www.thomasinatissue.com.
